Wild anise - 400g

Anise comes from an annual, Umbelliferous plant that can reach 60cm; the ovoid, striped green-brown seeds are harvested in summer. Anise reveals a warm aromatic and pungent smell mixed with a slightly sweet flavor with a very distinct note of licorice. Anise seeds find varied culinary uses in sweet and savory dishes. Anise flavors cakes and sweets, especially in Europe; on the other hand, anise is popular in India and the Middle East in soups, stews, curries and some breads.
