Red Sichuan pepper dried berries - 200g

These are small red berries of the Chinese variety of a small ash tree, of the Rotaceae family, bristling with sharp thorns, which grow wild on the slopes of hills. Harvested in autumn, the berries are dried in the sun until they open. The red-brown berries, 4-5 mm long, are hard and covered with thorns. Sichuan berries have a spicy aroma, with a woody note; they have a powerful and sparkling flavor. Berries and seeds were once administered in China as a remedy for dysentery.
