Laudemio is the fine wine of extra virgin olive oil and has been described by The Telegraph as one of the “50 foods to try before you die”. When the Prince of Wales visited Frescobaldi, he planted an olive tree and now receives a bottle of Laudemio each year. Made from three kinds of olive – Moraiolo, Leccino and Pendolino – this oil has won countless awards from Slow Food, Los Angeles Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition, New York International Olive Oil Competition and even Wine Spectator. The bottle’s appearance is that of a perfume, which is befitting of this highly aromatic, full-throttle, emerald green extra virgin olive oil. A little of this finishing oil goes a long way with its rich flavours of mown grass, artichoke, kale, chicory, green peppercorn and fresh herbs; it tastes like it was freshly pressed yesterday. Drizzle over simple salads, ribollita, minestrone, ravioli, steamed greens like chard and romanesco, or – as the Tuscans do – Bistecca alla Fiorentina.
