Blood orange cake recipe

  • 200 g sugar
  • 120 g melted butter
  • 1 blood orange zest
  • eggs
  • 150 g flour
  • 80 g blood orange juice
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • blood orange


  • Preheat the oven at 170°C.
  • Mix fast the melted butter with sugar and the blood orange zest.
  • Add the other ingerdients and mix.
  • Pour the mixture in a silicon cake dish 24 x 10cm (don't fill up above 3/4 of the cake dish capacity). 
  • Place in the oven for 50 minutes.You know the cake is cooked when the blade of a knife is dry after being sunk in the cake. 
  • Unmold over a grill. 
  • Keep aside and once the cake is cooled, decorate with blood orange slices.
